Photographs documenting various electric streetcars and streetcar routes in San Francisco, primarily in the first half of
the 20th century. Many photographs accompanied by richly descriptive captions pertaining to the history of a particular streetcar
line, including line numbers whose routes changed locations. Streetcar companies represented include Market Street Railway,
United Railroads of San Francisco and Southern Pacific Railroad, among others. Collection spans line numbers 19 to 30, suggesting
that the present material is only a portion of what was originally a larger and more comprehensive collection.
